Even as a not so died in the wool Who fan.

That was toe curlingly on the nose.

Episode 2.

Hhhmmmm?

No problems with the Doc
but still not fully on board with the hangers on.

Don't think it's anywhere near as well written as the Capaldi series, at least so far.

I'm really liking this new series, the longer running time means a more measured pace which focuses on the characters more. Previous series felt breakneck, madcap affairs which never stood around long enough to contemplate consequences. The new Doctor is more of a conciliatory, inclusive team player, more of a mediator than the previous recent incarnations, who tended to be opinionated, righteous and leading from the front. The cinematography is spectacular.

About the only quibble I have at this time is the new Tardis interior, which looks like an explosion in a boiled sweet factory.

Episode 2....A lot better story line this time. characters starting to gel. Scenery and effects good.

Spoiler....
SPOILER:
I expected the cigar man to die and smoke his last, as anyone with a 'saving this cigar to the end' usually dies, but I was outsmarted with the plot, and he saved the day with an exploding cigar, and everyone went home happy

Episode 3.. public information film preachy bit was race relations and very well done to. I always like the historical type episodes of Doctor Who, even it it was only recent history (the 1950's).

Not watched it yet, but I have no problem with that sort of preachiness...
