Well, that was... average. I don't remember daleks being so meh before.

I spent the last couple of seasons having to re-watch episodes with the subtitles on for incomprehensible dialogue, and they've only gone and cast John Bishop as the next companion (probly). I'll need subtitles from the start!

well I enjoyed it, not great but ok, John Bishop?????? I hate the Liverpudlian accent :(

I think it's a time (lord) issue.
I know they're trying hard but sci fi has moved on and Daleks just aren't scary anymore. Noticeably better when they weren't on screen.
All Doc and mates interaction was fine.

Enjoyable enough but let's make that the last time we see the old sink plungers with lousy voice distortion.

I haven't watched it yet, but I think you are right. They were scary in the 70s, but as soon as we realised they couldn't get up stairs... they had to add rockets to their bottoms. Not really fixing the design issue is it!

I'm noticing a lot of similarity with Star Wars threads ;)

I stopped watching I think when Matt Smith was the Doctor, as I stopped enjoying it, then watched the first Jodie W one, but decided it still wasn't for me.

I used to love Dr Who when I was a kid, so I'm interested in seeing what they've done with it, but I don't want to tarnish my rose tinted spectacles any more, I need them for Star Wars :)
