It's a viewpoint.
I don't even know if I'd call myself a Dr Who fan.
I enjoy it but I'm not obsessive about it. Frankly I couldn't tell you whether or not I'd seen any of the stuff he/she mentioned.

Something can have a moral but still be overly preachy about it.

Boring world if we all agreed.

I'm off to stress out whether Big Ben's gonna bong or not.

If a load of people want to give their money to make it bong, I say let them! As long as it's not tax payers money.

Episode 4
Much better and Goran Visnjic,
who I apologise to for not digging out all the right characters for his name,
is bloody brilliant as Tesla.

He's a great actor, glad to see this new series is an improvement over the last one despite the slip at the end of the last episode (thought still not seen any of them yet)...

A couple of weeks ago, I was ready to write this series off, but today we get the best of this series, and maybe the best episode for quite a few years.

Didn’t look promising to begin with, the return of the Go Pro Rhinos, but then there’s the rousing return of a familiar face, which turns out to be a marvellous distraction from the return of an unfamiliar familiar face.

Talk about provocative! They’ve set themselves quite a challenge, coming up with an outcome that will now fulfil fan expectations.

SPOILER:
Cartmel

Thoroughly enjoyed that one. Lots of unexpected twists, and a few expectations subverted (although Stuke was an obvious bluff). Wasn't that fussed to see the old face, and seemed to be just there as a vehicle to make this a Doc-solo episode. Still, added enough to the series to make his appearance (potentially) worthwhile.

I haven't looked but has the Whovian fan base exploded yet, given the initial reaction to Ms Whittaker?

The haters are always going to hate, but the noise level on social media and the like suggests a generally positive response to the episode.

Actually, of the first five episodes of the season, only one has received the kind of dislike that the previous season got in general. I think there has been a general shift in the way the show has been produced, bringing back classic characters and villains, and with the past two episodes shifting to a more RTD and Moffat storytelling style. It's also been noticed that in this season, there's been more of an effort to split the Doctor up from her 'fam'. both physically and emotionally, and it's allowed her character to come through more strongly.

I'm all for looking after the planet and inclusiveness with regards to sexuality/same-sex marriages, that that was so hit-you-over-the-head preaching it was almost offensive.
