Re Episode 5 that was a shocker of an ending to a very good and current episode, episode 6, I sat with a huge smile on my face from start to finish :)

I enjoyed episode 7 even if it did feel a bit rushed, also seems to be getting very preachy now which I think they really need to tone down a notch or three.

Yes, and I think they are overdoing the love lives of the characters, instead of getting some real space adventures.

Episode 8, 'Identity'....a two parter along with episode 9...Yes, this is what we want, a really good episode with plenty of excellent storyline and CGI visuals.

A really nitty gritty episode, not expected, and waiting to see how the second part pans out.

Very very good, and didn't see it coming tbh which is a huge bonus nowadays, but I'm guessing the 2nd part will SPOILER:
see Isaac turn on his own and become even more Data like and become the only one of his kind. But the tomb scene showed a very dark and different take on the show which is very much for the better

Really good if obvious episode apart from SPOILER:
The krill finding a common enemy and possibly again ala Star Trek and the Klingons starting a possible long road to friendship. Also cracking old school space battle :)

a good ending to that two parter, though....

SPOILER:
Code:
in reality the krill would take advantage of the situation and destroy all, when the Earthers backs are to the wall.

But, hey, we are talking good old star trek here  (sorry, the good ol orville)

Another excellent "proper" Sci-fi episode, the series really has gone up a notch :)

Episode 10, another good one, and far superior to the new Star Trek series that competed with it, and why Star Trek fans enjoy the Orville far more.

Due to trying to get a whole episode in on a short time, continuity can be a problem sometimes on 'the orville' and leaves you questioning important bits that have been left out, as in this episode.

Orin who is Gordons friend gets.....
SPOILER:
..blown up, but what is the proof to the krill that he is dead, we have to assume there was DNA proof or something that proved he was killed in the shuttle explosion, for the peace treaty to get underway, and what of his woman accomplice, what happened to her? Have to again assume she was jailed in a Union prison for her actions.

Anyway other than that, a very gripping episode.

Edit....The Orville series 1 boxset.
Just got this at a good price new at £8 on Ebay, and has a lot of DVD extras, which the best part being an audience conference with the whole crew on the subject of series 1 and upcoming series 2, interesting to see the actors of the AI Robot and 'on board' aliens (minus costumes and masks) to see what they look like and talk like as their human selves :D
