Well I have watch all episodes so far, as I am a fan of Star Trek, but as you say mbilko, the crew are just not likeable, and you would have thought the makers of the program had analysed the last failed program Star Trek Enterprise, which had a non-descript crew, where we did not care if they died or not.

Another factor is the Vogon like Klingons with stupid voices, that is a real turn off to any fan.

I will stick it out for the season, but still think The Orville' have a far better crew, storylines, and fun factor, even if it is a cloned version of Star trek. Plus they seem to have cut back on the corny jokes a lot, and made it into a good series.

Just letting you know that the second part of the first series has returned after Christmas.

Not saying its any better, but they are now stuck in the alternative dimension where the 'dark Star Trek universe' is. If you remember Captain Kirk in the original series, ended up there in charge of an evil crew and empire, but got home again.

At least the klingons now are speaking English, but still in a clangers type accent

SPOILER:
Oh, One of the main crew characters got killed (the Doctor), and who really cares? and that sums up this new Star trek crew.

Anyway, Still not as good as 'The Orville' where star trek fans have now taken it, as being far more like Star Trek, than the above.

Really getting into The Orville now, the last couple of episodes have been really great.  Yesterday's about an undercover mission to recover an enemy bible had a really downbeat ending, which was a tad unexpected...

The last few episodes, Discovery has actually got a lot better. It still suffers from Burnam being a really unlikeable main character, but it has improved a fair bit.

Have to agree there Rob, and now that they are back in their own universe, is that the end of the first series?

Well just saw the final episode of this first series, and was a bit confused about the time line.

At the very end of the show the Discovery meets up with the original captain kirk enterprise, although captained by Cpt Pike (who was in charge before kirk).

I thought this show was further ahead in time of the original Enterprise, so whats going on? or are we to guess that some sort of time warp has happened?

Whilst that's still true, he's done better than I would have thought as Manchester mayor...

It is further ahead in time than the original Enterprise, but NCC-1701 wasn't the first Enterprise...

Urg, final two episodes back to mediocrity and stupidity.

There may have been a time when the visual effects of a TV series could replace plot and create tension, but this isn't the 80s any more. :(

SPOILER:
Oh gosh we are out of these microbes, let's spend half an episode just going to a planet and growing some more. Burnham is so unlikeable as a character. And the Klingon Human being forgiven so quickly by the people on the ship he's only been on for a short while?

Who wrote this forgettable rubbish? I don't think I'll bother with season 2. If I'm tempted, someone top me. :(

You'll be back Rob for season 2

I also know its rubbishy scripts, but curiosity will bring me back also.
