Man in the High Castle

RJS (undefined) posted this on Friday, 23rd October 2015, 20:35

Just started on Amazon Prime, I think someone posted a trailer about this in another thread but I can't find it.

Anyway, annoyingly I can't watch it! Episode 2 works fine, Episode 1 freezes on the first logo after the Amazon one. :( Doesn't matter how long I leave it for, I can go and watch other programs just fine. :/

Anyone had this problem with Amazon TV at all? Or know of a fix?

So I've seen the first two episodes now, this is really good! Also Amazon are putting episode one out there in various places for a short time:

What a great first season! At least I hope it's the first season.

SPOILER:
So I'm left with the idea that The Man in the High Castle is Hitler, and he's got the resistance and his own men searching for these films, because it's the only way he can be sure he always gets them.

And the Japanese trade minister can somehow jump between dimensions and it's him that gets hold of the films in the first place? And maybe others like him as well?

That's my take on it all anyway.

There was no second book so don't reckon they'll be a season 2.

Just started Hand Of God also on Prime.

Started this last night as no TV, broadband or phone at home for a week and only Amazon Prime lets me download seasons of their stuff to watch at home. Shows that the sacrifices made for our future really were worth it.

Not got Amazon prime, as every TV show just buffers through my poor spec computer, so not worth while.

Anyway had time to watch the first episode through the link above (thanks), and as predicted it buffered badly, having to keep moving back a few minutes so the buffering would catch up. So it took an hour and 15 minutes to watch an hour show. Not my kind of TV.

Quite an interesting story though by splitting the USA into the Japs winning in the West and the Nazis in the East, with a neutral zone. And the Japs and Nazis at loggerheads leading towards a further war. With the poor Americans just slaves to the system.

One thing that put me right off the series was torture, once again TV producers think that we want to see torture, since Game of thrones excelled at that.

A real fault in the plot was that the guy in the lorry could just travel across Nazi controlled USA with ease. No way Jose.

I also figured out that he was a SPOILER:
Nazi undercover agent
, before the end of the first episode, it was just so obvious a script. And I bet he turns to the other side without even watching further.

It would take a lot more than was shown in this first episode, to get me interested in the show. Though it was well acted, and scenes were well made.

Conclusion....
I bet in the end, we will never know after many episodes why the Alternate reality happened in this show with the Axis powers winning WW2.

Just like the Dome, Lost and many other Si-fi shows they just fade away with no real or decent ending.

If this show comes to Sky, I might just continue watching it, and fast forward any torture.
