Another 9.9 on IMDB.

My only problem with that episode is...

SPOILER:
Kind of what's left to resolve now other than connecting plots to Breaking Bad?

A quick simple question.
If I've not dipped into this world at all.
Are Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul complete stand alones or do I need to watch one first, if so which.

They're standalone in the sense that they have a beginning and end I suppose - Breaking Bad was first and written without knowing Better Call Saul was going to exist.
Then Better Call Saul came and obviously has characters in it from BB.
Saul was only introduced into BB in Season 2.
Better Call Saul is about how he became who he is (and lots more) so chronologically happens before the events of BB so I suppose it depends on how you want to see it.
The production values and cinematography of Saul are stunning so it would maybe be a bit jarring to go from S6 of that to S1 of BB but other than that I'm not sure it's too important to watch it first. Personally, I'd watch BB first..
Both are the best TV Shows I've seen.

Me too, if you don't like BB then you won't like BCS. But also, it won't be confusing how young people got. 😂

Also, I suspect, that some of the interest in BCS is finding out how he got to be where he was in BB, which you'd miss out on if you watched BB first.

Thanks.
Looks like you pays yer money a makes yer choice.

I don't think the change in production values would jar as I regularly hop about different series quite disparate in when they were made.

Oh man, that was a hard watch.
SPOILER:
So, maybe it always had to end that way - Kim finally realising how poisonous they were together....  Even though she's been the instigator for lots of the things that they've done, ultimately I guess they're paying the price.  Resigned from the Bar and just leaving seemed so sudden.
The way it went straight from Kim leaving to a slightly balding Saul in the mansion (presumably not too long before the events of the opening 5 minutes of the first episode of the season?) leaves us enough episodes to really show what happened next - even more post BB stuff?? - and I refuse to believe that was Kim's exit and was the last we've seen of her....

This is truly amazing television on every level.
Spoilers up to and including Ep12, penultimate..
SPOILER:
So we're now fully in the Gene timeline usually - and Gene has got a bit bored but certainly has had that spark lit again for the con after the conversation with Jeff.  He's on a self destruct and pushed everything further - causing his own, presumed downfall by staying even longer in the house he robbed.  I assume the fact it was a cancer sufferer wasn't something to put him off the con - but something to make him even keener after the whole Walt thing..
It's surely pretty certain there's not gonna be any 'happy Jimmy and Kim reunion' in this - like I'm sure many were wishing for for some time, myself included.
Gene certainly doesn't deserve one any more.  It sometimes takes a while but justice is usually served in BCS, I feel it will be, for Gene at least...
How ironic it is that it's an older woman saying 'I trusted you.' that gets him to finally take a step back and run - it was older people trusting him waaaaay back that started him on this road.
Kim, living a shell of a life up in Florida, after receiving the call from Gene (brilliantly seen and heard this week from his point of view instead of the raging, glass smashing take from last week!), turns in the performance of a lifetime and finally cracks on the bus.  The scene with Howard's wife, her affidavit to the DA and her willingness to accept whatever may be coming her way may just be enough to give her some redemption?  Truly an award winning performance.
We've seen lots of different or alternative views of things we'd previously seen years ago - just incredible stuff.  I like the Walt and Jessie scene too and then went and watched the actual BB scene that came straight after it.
Loved the scene with Kim and Jessie too - she, pretty much at the end of her journey with Saul and Jessie right at the beginning.  And it's quite probably all because she answered his 'Is he any good?' question with 'When I knew him he was..'
The direction and camera angles are just second to none - BB included.
Oh, even loved the bit with Kim pulling out of the parking lot and Mike's been replaced by an automated barrier..

Can't wait for next week!

Finale...

SPOILER:
Overall it tied up the series, just perhaps a bit of a let down but I forgive it because a series isn't only as good as it's finale episode.

Makes total sense for Jimmy to be having an easy time in prison as he was famous for getting crooks off.

Although I did think he was terrified of being murdered by the drug cartel and when it just turned out to be wanted by the government...
