SPOILER:
I think this was in also in reference to when she was being interrogated when she was asked if she had ever killed a living thing. She said no. So it could mean that a new change has come where they are now capable of killing, even if it is just a fly for now.

SPOILER:
Had a chuckle when Black Hole Sun was playing on the piano!
Next week: Agadoo by Black Lace

Caught the first episode last night. Very impressed with the double-bluff with Teddy (James Marsden) at the start, and the recurring liasons with Dolores slowly exposing the underlying cruelty of 'pairing them up' only to have them play out the same tragic scenarios daily.

Ed Harris is on top form in this, and actually looking younger then he has in recent outings (Man on a ledge, Snowpiercer) but might just be the country air doing him good.

The behind the scenes material earned its own subtitle for me - 'old naked people in Chairs', with the pilitical machinations only spoiled by the too-streotypical British git shouting too much in place of character development. (Poor ADR wasoff-putting as well)

The trailers I've seen have kinda spoiled things a little, but I can't wait to see how this thing plays out.

As for Ed's character:

SPOILER:
Definitely a Host/robot, probably one of the first along with Dolores, hence his obsession with her. Became self-aware at some point, and his scalping of the Gambler near the end, revealing the map, shows he's trying to find his way home on his own, probably to try to make them pay for the horrors they're putting his robot family through

Also, nice to see GTAV's own Trevor Ogg getting some screentime.

HBO have released the second episode early on their HBO Now platform to avoid the next US presidential debate. Rips are available.

Just seen the first episode too... really interesting, nicely paced (was worried it would go all Person of Interest but it didn't).

Now for some spoiler speculation, if you don't want to read anything that may be true even if it is a guess, stop now!

SPOILER:
Agree with Alfie about the fly, believe this was a reference to her debrief earlier where she was asked if she had ever hurt a living thing, to which she said no, and also if she'd ever lied to them, which she said no too. So swatting the fly either says she is capable of hurting living things (well this makes that true obviously) but also implies she is capable of lying to them.

Not sure I'm in Pete's camp with Ed Harris' character. I think they are deliberately blurring the boundaries a bit, but think it would be a poor reveal if he was, when they'd painted a few sign posts that say he was a regular visitor.

He knows there are robots and humans, and robots can't hurt humans. So either he is a delusional robot, or he is a human who is trying to maybe find the dark secrets behind the place, such as if they are building these for military reasons, or maybe even he's a good guy who believes they are using them to infiltrate the higher echelons of power (what the board really wants to do?).

I vaguely remember that being the plot of Futureworld, so perhaps that is their inspiration?

All just guess work though!

2nd episode.....Well we now know that the 'man in black'.....

SPOILER:
is a guest, ie, human, and is farlry bumping of a lot of robots in his quest.

Question.....

SPOILER:
As the man in black bumped off a posse.s worth of robots during the lynching, Why do robots interact in such deeds when no humans were around? .....makes you wonder if robots are just doing their thing in westworld, whether a human is there on not

3rd episode we now see hand weapons in action, and this raises a dellema.....

SPOILER:
We know guns cannot kill a human but what about knifes?

We saw a human stick a knife through a robots hand, but what if it had been a human stabbed through the heart. A human could easily stab another human thinking its a robot.

I have a feeling this is a major flaw in the safety of humans in westworld.

If, I an an engineer was designing it, I would stick a big H on the forehead of each robot, aka red dwarf, or should that be an R

I was a little behind picking up on this series. Caught up with the first three episodes over the weekend. Have to say, I'm enjoying it much more than I was expecting to.
I love Anthony Hopkins in this.
I haven't seen any ads, trailers or spoilers, but I was comparing it to Bladerunner from the start. Can't wait for one or more of them to get out into the real world.

Still alive and kicking. You can't get rid of me that easily!

Just seen episode 6, was that a brief nod to the original movie in the background I saw briefly?
