BBC 4 comedy written and directed by Gareth from The Office with the always-good-at-acting Toby Jones.
A quite gentle, subtle comedy which I rather like. There's a TR7 in it.
I guess I forgot to post about it. we watched the 1st one and quite enjoyed it, haven't got round to ep 2.
As you say, more gentle and subtle than most sit-coms, a bit different to the norm.
From a few weeks ago, I started watching series 1 & 2 (currently on Netflix) and the final series 3 I'd marked for record off BBC 4... I'd always meant to give it a go and then Mackenzie Crooke was on Richard Herring's podcast so I did!
If you've not watched it, it's brilliant! Wonderfully made and a brilliant cast.
And I loved the finale.

I really loved the entire thing. A real gem.
I think i've got series 2 and 3 on the Virgin box to watch still!

Agreed, it was great.
The relationship between Mackenzie and Toby's characters was really special.
EDIT: this was a good story too....

Just stumbled across this:

A feature length special is being made, which I'm extremely happy about.
One of my favourite comedies of recent years (along with the similarly bucolic This Country)
