Agree, not as dynamic and where's the bass gone?  And the drums are half-assed...

Typical post regeneration story, overlong (much like TTOFTD was) more than anything watching live on I-Player\VPN spent a lot of time buffering.

Certainly a different style. Liked the shout out to "GITF" especially as The Doctor was never aware of the ships name (only being revealed as the TARDIS took off).

Capaldi was brilliant & Matt Smith a surprise & explained the hanging phone outside the TARDIS towards the close of TTOTD.

New titles almost work, still leaning a little to heavily towards the fan based version (Found this one which I liked

more), music definately lacks suspense, power & feeling.

My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I'm positive that I'm a pessimist & I don't care what what you think.

Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

That's good! If a little short.

I found it quite hard to get into, but thn ended up really enjoying it, I thought the phone call was a nice touch (although I get the impression I'm in the minority there!)

I really liked Matt Smith and wasn't convinced about Capaldi, but I was surprised to find myself liking him by the end of the episode, quite looking forward to next weeks!

Not sure about the new titles yet, can't make y mind up!

I do like the emphasis on time, but it's a major change from the titles that virtually everyone is used to...

Just watching it again on BBC3HD. All character and story quibbles aside (still undecided myself), one thing stuck out to me as being completely head and shoulders above every other element. The CGI on the lead robot, from rotoscoping to mocap was absolutely seamless. If that's the benchmark, it bodes very well for the rest of the series, unless they're peaking too early

Rotoscoping?......animation tracing over live actors.

Mocap?.....Motion capture..moving of objects frame by frame.

So this was all going on, and here's me thinking it was all just the magic of Si-fi on television

I feel just a little out of place here., stepping into a thread full of Whovians. Somewhat similar to the plot maybe.
I'm old enough to remember William Hartnell in the junkyard all those years back and if it wasn't a junkyard you'll have to forgive me, I haven't regenerated, just got older.
Loved it through Troughton, Pertwee and Baker. Fell a bit out of love with Davidson and Baker then completely out of love with McCoy which is where the Doctor and I parted company.

Vaguely interested when it all re launched but mostly just an interested bystander.

So, to the point, sorry was I wandering. It happens at my age. Now what did I come in here for? Jelly Babies? No... Ah yes the Cardinal sorry Capaldi! The very fellow.

The latest regeneration. Works for me.
After the initial couple of minutes of 'Oh come on. Jurassic Park and Sherlock Holmes!' Rapidly suspended my disbelief and bought into the whole thing yet again.
There seems, on this thread at least,  to be a touch too much looking at the workings rather than stepping back and just going along for the ride which is what it was always supposed to be about. There's more than enough about Capaldi to convince me he's well suited to the role and will expand to fill all available nooks and quirks of the character. I will however be watching the next episode with maybe a wince or two and from behind closed fingers as I'm far from sure Daleks will work in this day and age.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

Interspecies, beyond that depends on what sex the lizard lady is.
