Nice last feature length episode.

SPOILER:
Good touch at the end with her remembering all of a sudden that Brody knew Nasir`s son, and then getting the memory shocked out of her. ;)

Shades of the ending of The Killing.

Though with no chance of her being back in Homeland, I struggle to see what a second series could bring, unless it`s a whole new plot with the Brody thing as a very slow burning sub plot. Or maybe it goes "2 years later" or something.

The finales are hitting it out of the park this year!

SPOILER:
The scenes in the bunker were really tense! Damien Lewis and Clare Danes will no doubt be up for some Emmys next year!

Still no word on when it will air on Channel 4 though.

No rush, plenty for me to watch at the moment and still haven`t watched any of Covert Affairs...

Watched the first 2 episodes tonight with the missus (she`d made me wait for her).

Reckon we will have finished the first season by next weekend at the latest.  Really enjoyed the first two.

The finale was good, but didn`t leave me completely satisfied

SPOILER:
I didn`t realise until reading the reviews that the fall outside is what pulled the trigger, out which made more sense ~(outside it being a very cliched get out of the bomb failing).

I agree with Gareth that it was very tense, dramatic scenes there, but I did feel a bit dissatisfied in the end even though it made sense.

The "convincing" of Abu Nazir by shooting Walker didn`t really ring true as he knew that Walker was going to kill him anyway, so regardless of whether he was still onside or not, killing Walker was in his interest

It is hard to see where the next series goes, but obviously they must have some plan in mind.

Hopefully it doesn`t go into ridiculous territory, but hopefully the nature of the show will obviously go now from the is he/isn`t he (as I had "fears" he was actually working as double agent against Nazir off his own back).

Re: the finale...

SPOILER:
I think I didn`t realise something too, though not quite understanding what you wrote maybe confusing me. Are you saying that when Walker shot at the politicians, Brody fell and that broke his vest?

I can see season 2 having Brody continue his ascent to power, whilst Carrie works for her own (or someone elses) private intelligence firm, completely distrusting Brody`s innocence but never remembering the one item that proves it to herself.

RJS

SPOILER:
Yeah after Walker shoots the woman and Brody and everyone else in being led in the building in the panic, he is pushed to the ground and smashes in quite hard.

At the time we thought about it setting the bomb off there and then and then in the tension afterwards didn`t think back to that moment, but obviously works well rather than just a simple the bomb malfunctioned.

Re Season 2

SPOILER:
I hope they don`t go down the 24 route (that was used most seasons) that is was something personal where only Jack had the undercover experience with the person they wanted to deal with.  Although actually a reasonable plot device once or twice, it was ludicrous on 24 in the end.

One of the Homeland showrunners is a previous showrunner or writer on 24 I believe?

Well just watched Season 1 this week. Have to say it kept me interested all the way through.
Will definitely look out for Season 2.
