First one was last night and I thought it was a great start.
Really good chemistry between all the presenters right from the off I felt.
Should be good....

Just saw the repeat, if they’re that good in ep1, they’re only going to get better. I was sceptical enough to give it a miss yesterday though. Had finally got used to Joey...

I watched the new team just to see this episode of electric cars and what they thought of them.

The conclusion seemed to be if you are wiling to pay over the odds for an electric car compared to its fueled counterpart (up to 30% more), and only drive a short distance, then electric is good for you.

The show played on range worry, and I think they were right with the short range these cars have at the moment, well except for the tesla3 which was 200 miles, though at an eyewatering £40K+, it looked rubbish for the money.

Another factor they made fun of, but is true, is the time you have to spend waiting on a re-charge, unless you can run your cable into a socket into a pub and wait, and then you are too drunk to drive

In the show one of the presenters ran his cable into a strangers house, yeh, just try that one, he he.

I still think electric cars need to be cheaper, look good, and have far better range and a faster charge time, till they become mainstream.

Instead of recharging, can’t they create a system where the batteries are changed? Convert petrol stations so you pull in, a hatch opens at the bottom of your car, robot arms remove the empty batteries and replace them with fully charged ones, you pay for the difference in charge, and the station takes care of recharging the batteries...

I think on last weekend's Click they had a scheme that did this in another country somewhere? You just swapped your batteries at a "fueling station" and they charged them up.

wouldn't that involve all the companies, (actually there's no that many really is there?) working together to create a standard, you know like we had/have with video tapes, recordable DVDs, HD discs ;)

Well, it's not like all petrol stations use different petrol and diesel nozzles for each company, not all car manufacters have different refilling systems for their cars...

It's a good point Jitendar but the analogous point is where manufacturers place petrol caps.

Politician just haven't thought it through and electric cars will only work as a concept if only 5 to 10 % of the population use them.

It's Waitrose motoring.
