Not sure on a personal level but I think Arteta acknowledged he's getting a lot of support from fans and players alike.

I still want to hear Southgate explain why he did that to a 19 year old who had not even completed his first full first team season and never taken a penalty.
Southgate was mid career when he had his miss and he knows damn well that Saka will now get that 'How does this compare...Does this make up for...Did the miss prepare you for.. ' in every interview for the rest of his career.

He said the names and order was all based on performance in pens right through last week.

Not sure I believe that but anyway sticking one away on the training ground is a million miles away from last pen in a world final.

Well I believe it but completely agree, the two environments are totally different. He could have scored every one and still shouldn't have been near the first five.
