So...can we pick up where we left off at the end of last season? Or will we flatter to deceive as we have done in the past?
I'm pretty optimistic this time as Marcel Brands continues to do his thing in bringing in new players, adding to these new positions:
Goalkeeper - Jonas Lossl
Right Back - Djibril Sidibe
Midfield - Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin plus Andre Gomes permanently
Right Wing - Alex Iwobi
Striker - Moise Kean
The only downside is not being able to get Kurt Zouma in permanently as well.

It's going to be interesting to see if the top 6 are no longer the top 6.
I'm optimistic AFC might get 4th or even third this season but ask me again in 4 matches and I could have taken up knitting instead.
I hope Iwobi does well for you, just not in two matches.

After the hundreds of millions spent last few years the pressure has to be on to start delivering a bit now and really challenging at least top 5. 7th not good enough really for the side only behind City, Utd and Arsenal for net spend last five years. Ish.

I think you need to be a bit more optimistic about your season...

He's a football fan.
We don't do optimism.
Sorry about the voice over bit, didn't notice.

"I think you need to be a bit more optimistic about your season..."Not sure what that actually means? I am optimistic though - but really would have liked to have made a few signings. City pipped us to the league and still spent another £100m or so?
A few key injuries could hurt us - even looking like we could be without Allison for 4-6 weeks now. :(

RE: Everton: 2019/20 season
Nice come back tonight in the cup after a disappointing defeat to Villa.
Cracking match with both sides playing really well. Great individual goal from Lincoln's Andrade, following a superb Digne free kick that followed (eventually) Lincoln taking the lead after 20 seconds.
We had the possession and created loads of chances, but fair play to Lincoln who gave us one hell of a good match despite not only being well below us but also made significant changes to their line-up before and during the match due to their management team rightly focussing on their league match at Fleetwood this weekend.
In the end, the gulf in skill level won through with two rather good goals. Smashing header from Richarlison finished it, but good poaching header from Iwobi who is now off the mark in blue. Credit to Cenk Tosun for his downward header into the box rather than blindly going for goal.
Superb match. Well done to all.

Great match today, Wolves are a tough side to beat.
Iwobi off the mark in the Premier League with another header...
