So what's the overall opinion on Arteta?

Seems positive for the most part from what I can see...

Well Areta seems to have put some bite and tactical nouse into them, really pleased for KT another great long range pass (he seemed to make several) but its the 1st game I watched all of with him in a back 3 and I was confused by his positioning when they had the ball there building as he seemed to be more left wing back leaving centre mid with the other 2 center backs which meant Luiz was trying to make the long range passes he was making for fun on the left? oh and I won my bet with Arsenal, and both goalscorers so happy with that too :) refereee killed the game though, I assume VAR is not used in FA cup?

Really good! I doubt there is a Gooner that hasn't seen the difference he has made since joining.

I have not seen an Arsenal team play this much for each other or their manager since the Invincibles. They are all working hard for him, and any that don't have vanished really quickly.

And they've got the reward of an FA Cup for doing it, so there shouldn't be any of them who can doubt his methods. It probably also helps that he came from City and brought (stole?) a bunch of their top coaching staff with him.

He is clearly a very smart guy, and he's also obviously very ambitious. And he can create a proper team from a squad of players.

I guess as Snaps says, the worry now is Abama leaves and/or we don't get the right players to challenge for the top 4 next season. Because I don't think Arteta would put up with that, he'll go find somewhere that will give him the resources he needs to challenge for the top spot.

If Abamo stays, we need a centre back to replace David Luiz long term (and Holding if he stays injury prone), and a playmaker to replace Xhaka. I think we have enough young talent to fill in all the other blanks for the odd injury here and there, but as much as I like Xhaka he isn't a playmaker and he slows the game down every time he gets the ball. I wonder if this is Arteta making sure he doesn't give the ball away with some awful pass which was something he used to do a lot.

I think that's what we lack to start scaring other teams. Those two positions are expensive and difficult to find world class players in. 😞

But maybe Arteta is the exciting new kid on the block, and maybe that will turn heads?

I think it can only be used for straight red card decisions, and as this was a second yellow...

It was available and used, to check Martinez didn't leave his area when he caught that ball was one check made I think.

Yes. That was just cleared up in MOTD.

I'd agree the second yellow was harsh for the sending off.
Chelsea could have real problems even going into next season with two hamstrings and Pedro's shoulder, I know he's leaving but has he already been bought or will that muck up his moving on?

Yes a position that's needed but don't forget we've got Saliba just arrived.
The single most important position is a creative midfielder, which is ironic as at one time it was the only type of player Wenger seemed to sign.

Tierney? Yes mbilko he's definitely the mutt's gonads and already been mentioned by knowledgeable podcasters as future captain material.

Interesting that Arteta dropped the comment in the week that he regularly talks to Wenger on the phone.

These are always interesting, obviously they are still highlights but he's so animated, in that way you see with Klopp and Guadiola...

That's as entertaining as the match highlights.

Dressed in that black gear he looks like the society cat burglar from a 1960's movie.
If you can find it look for the end of the match where he embraces Matt Macey, that boy is bloody enormous.

Also David Luiz's injury.
If that even stops him running for a bus I'll be amazed.
He's sat on the pitch, totally relaxed, while the realisation that they've lost sinks in to the Chelsea team.
Deliberate professional time wasting.

Also this is hilarious, did you notice a grassy knoll anywhere in Wembley?
