So this was amusing...

Turns out we know who the culprit was:

Not sure we do.
What's Tim Cahill doing in a post match presser.

At least I now know what the smiling was about as I couldn't hear what the interruption was, other than obviously a phone.

Well that was a real mixed bag.
First 25 mins as frustrating as hell. Palace looked like they didn't want to be there and we couldn't muster more than a second gear shuffle to do anything about it until for a few brief seconds we hit third and walked through them for a goal.
If we'd taken more advantage of their disinterest we could have had more.
They suddenly realised that they maybe weren't as bad as they thought they were and started playing.

A bit of a flukey goal
Aubameyang rightly sent off for a real forwards tackle after an absolute age for a VAR review.. At least one by a Palace player that could have had red as well for a similar hack.
Still holding our own and attacking with 10 men. Could've won it but for the Palace goal keeper not cutting his nails and edging Pepe's shot onto the post.
Liked Artetas attacking substitution, Martinelli for Ozil, as well.

I'd agree with everything you said but this, it wasn't anywhere near as bad.

I watched this with my neighbour (Palace fan), and he said it didn't look like they were a man up for the whole time they were. Which is what I'm taking from that game.

Yes and no.
The result wasn't but both actions were uncontrolled and reckless.

Anyway I'm taking much the same as you are.
Things still going in a positive direction.
Particularly a team that 'can't defend' doing a pretty good job of defending.

Sensible transfers
These guys at Tifo regularly put good analyses out and this one sums up our needs and possible options.
Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest though if nobody comes in at all.

I think it's only fair to give the existing players a chance to prove themselves.

Was that Chelsea game a sign? Feels like a sign.

When David Luiz got sent off and they scored, I thought here we go again. Then Martinelli gets a little luck on a huge run and scores his first Premiership goal, and suddenly I think maybe we can win this.

Then I remember we are a man down and when Chelsea go 2-1 up I figure we are out of energy now, but that felt like a win. Considering how many Arsenal games where we were a man up and they drew with us, and those felt like a loss, this makes sense. :)

Mustafi made a few howlers there, I really like him but he just keeps doing it. But then Xhaka was like that too and somehow he's sorting himself out under Arteta. So I don't know.

Anyway, feels good. :) Mix of hugely talented kids and experienced players all working for each other, and showing passion and a level of perfectionism where they yell at each other for not making the right passes...

Arteta is making me wonder how I had any doubts.

Another benchcam...

Was this what it was like when Solskjaer took over Man Utd? Are we just enjoying a honeymoon period of this appearing to be the manager who is going to bring us back to the top?

There is obviously a lot of work to do but right now I can't think of a better person to be doing it.
