The Official Liverpool 2018/19 Season Thread
Very excited for this season. Think we've spent the Coutinho money really well - we'll have to wait and see.
A promising pre-season and some promising youth performing really well - especially the likes of Curtis Jones.
There's only so many places available in the squad so hopefully the likes of Harry Wilson, Jack Woodburn, Ryan Kent and Ojo in particular can benefit from a good few games on loans to help us in the future.
Last season's players seem 'business as usual' but so happy with some of our signings - Alisson should make a real difference but I have a feeling Shaqiri could play a bigger part than many expect - he's an absolute beast and I'm sure Klopp will really get the most out of him. Keita looking every bit as cool as I'd hoped - and Fabinho doing well too.
Particularly loving Mourinho's constant moaning - especially about signings, and Liverpool in particular - all while completely ignoring the fact he's spent waaay more himself and the players he already has (p***ing off most of them in the process). I really don't know if he doesn't know how good some of them are - or, as I think more likely, how to play and motivate them.
A good start is important to the season and looking at our line-ups in pre-season I'm sure Klopp's totally looking to hit the ground running and get some points up there early on...
Come on you Reds!!!

Have to say, not really been impressed with the way you guys have dealt with Karius and this whole concussion thing but on the other hand, your new keeper should be a decent addition and shore you up at the back...

What was it you weren't impressed by?
The way they backed him completely publicly (unlike some managers we could name who think nothing of shattering young players' confidence publically) - but replaced him with the then world record priced keeper?
Or the amazing reaction he got when he came on as sub in the last game?
Would be glad to see the back of him personally and would rather have Mignolet as No. 2.

Pretty sure Liverpool gave no s***e about concussion, they merely went along with the findings of a doctor's assessment.
Happy they replaced him and the way he was backed publicly instead of slaughtering him I have no problem with either.

I can go with the after match diagnosis for the Champions League final, it was continuation of that diagnosis during a friendly against (I think) Tranmere Rovers.
In fairness, from what I can remember, it wasn't the club that brought that back up though.

Great result and performance.
And "Last season's players seem 'business as usual" seems right too.
Keita was superb too.

Great result today. After losing Trent, Gomez and Matip at the back I was thinking couldn't happen at a worse time but we were brilliant. Clyne stepped in after so long out. Fabinho was our best player and him and Keita are really getting better and better.
Great week after the derby result earlier in the month, nice couple in between and the Napoli one afterwards..
Seem to be clicking in the last few games. A good way off City I feel - but a decent amount above the others too.
Oh, Shaq, what a buy.

Nearly an amazing own goal there by City, from a neutral's POV that game could have gone either way. Title race is more exciting again! (Not what you want to hear I'm sure!)
