I know nothing about football, since I realised I could never understand the off side rule, no matter what, so bear with me as I ask this stupid question....

Why are the football clubs hated?

I would guess either they just got some russian oligarch and bought success which old school fans like myself can't stomach or they are a london or manchester club which have a huge amount of local rivals which hate them

if the scum down the road were in premiership, we'd be higher :) there's no hard feelings with Bournemouth, but with that other team it's not just about football, which is also the problem elsewhere:(

That makes sense, until you look at how low Man City's score is. I suspect this was a very flawed survey, which is going to be biased by fan location.

I find West Ham's position the most surprising.

Didn't the same thing happen to Manchester City?
Also, didn't Arsenal try & buy the O2 dome? So not as if it's the first time it's happened. Blame the Mayor (Boris) for the poor deal signed.
The standout for me was Liverpool. They have a history of playing entertaining football so I'm surprised.

City's new owners are very active in local community projects so I find it a bit harder to hate them plus their supporters don't have the same degree of entitlement as the other Manchester lot.

Not to my knowledge. We had O2 as sponsors for about 4 years maybe you're confusing it with that. David Dein originally wanted us to move to Wembley which was the start of all the ructions that ended with him being booted out.
