Goodbye Rakuten!

Jitendar Canth (Reviewer) posted this on Wednesday, 8th June 2016, 13:11

Remember Play.com the Jersey based e-tailer, got bought out by Japanese company Rakuten, who kept the name, ditched the retail side, and kept it going as a Marketplace, before minimising the Play name and changing it to Rakuten.co.uk?

They're shutting down the UK site at the end of August. So I guess Amazon's Marketplace has free reign now!

Bugger!

I remember the good old days of play247 ordering r1 dvds before the films had shown in the cinema here.

since being rakuten I've ordered from them a handful of times, I know some of the sellers are on ebay and amazon and have their own sites, but who can be bothered any more to search so much when amazon makes it so easy :(

remember using kelkoo to find the best price between amazon, play, cdwow etc etc.
