Page 1 of BT WiFi problem

Here's a fun one
BT FTTP 
The hub is working (Solid Blue light)
Ethernet is working but WiFi is not.
The WiFi network name does not appear yet it is present as a BT WiFi hotspot.
I didn't know this seems to be on by default and if I ever get back in I'll disable it.

I'll be ringing BT in the morning but if anyone has a suggestion or had this happen I'd be interested in a solution. (I've tried all the turn it off and on again options)

Done the factory reset via hub management which has us back up and running.
Wi fi was turned off though not by me and I'd never changed tge defaults anyway so any udea why it would turn itself off?

There's a reset but it needs a paper clip and the hub's wall mounted above eye level so nobodys accidentally touched it.

My guess is you have little to no changes made at Router level (SSID password change, Port forwarding, IP allocation, MAC Filtering etc.) so a Factory reset will have lost nothing - BUT if you had logged into the Router using the login details and router's address you would have seen WiFi was off and you would have been able to turn it back on manually.
As to why it went off, it's a 'computer', these things happen....

That was how I switched it back on.
Too bloody tired last night to get my brain in gear.
Only reason it concerns me is there's two people working from home both dealing with very sensitive info.

My older router came with a physical switch to switch wi-fi on or off. I liked that as i could switch wi-fi off through the night, when I did not want it.

Nowadays most routers now use a software switch so you have to login via computer, as mentioned above to set it on or off. So when I want wi-fi off through the night now, I have to unplug the router at the mains socket.

All this due to the lack of a physical switch, grrrh!
