Monitor problem

Snaps (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 23rd July 2020, 09:18

I've got a 24inch AOC 12473 PWY monitor and I'm just noticing on the Mars video I posted what looks like a sort of bruising along the bottom edge of the screen. Random darker ellipses along the length of it, fading out after about 3/4 to an inch max.

Not normally visible due to the start bar on the browser and most films or images not having a constant light tone at the base.

Tried a quick Google but I can't find any reference.

Because you posted a screenshot instead of a photo of your monitor with the problem? 😂

I thought that was on purpose!

i was going to say, that you need to circle the problem areas, as I can't see the problem, then realised you posted a screenshot, rather than a photo of the screen.

well, that suggests hardware since screenshot doesn't show the problem, so you sort of help.

have you tried to a different cable ;) (now my stock answer to everythign rather than have you turned it off an on again)

Pretty normal on some monitors that. Looks like back-light bleed - just a combination of screen 'tightness' and sealing by the bezel - a bit like when you poke an lcd screen gently
If it's new you could try for a replacement but could be refused or end up with one worse.
