yeh, had  a quick look, was trying to work out the pros and cons, and how to do it, i guess I could just chuck the sim, as I'm happy on virgin, still makes it £20 cheaper than Amazon, £139 at John Lewis, inc 2 yr guarantee.

what puts me off buying a moto is knowing the new ones are just round the corner, I know you can always say that about tech, but that means that these will be reduced by more, or the new ones will be even more competitively priced, as they're not the default go to king of budget phone now.

Is yours still on marshmallow or have you gone to nougat/Oreo?

Its not that I want bleeding edge, but security updates etc. Also I remember my old old Samsung where bank app wouldn't work after a certain update as android was too old on it and couldn't update.

It got one update to android 7 I think. Also minor updates. My banking app was ok. Also, Android Pay worked fine.
I don't have it anymore, not because I wasn't happy with it, but because I dropped it. Now has a cracked screen but a family member is using it as they never buy a new phone.
I now have a Lenovo P2. Brilliant battery but the 6x had a much better finger print scanner.

I'm getting more and more irritated by having to spin my phone round mid use, but keep umming and arrign about another Chinese phone on hukd :) Not just the spec and return policy, but whether I can wait long enough for it to arrive ;)

Very decent - £200 odd elsewhere - although inevitably out of stock. Bit hit-and-miss whether you get NFC and would need to work with giffgaff/O2 for me (it may not).
