RE: [VIDEO] Can I connect two routers
Thanks. I have played that game renaming etc.
Still going to cable up but it's on hold till we've painted the hall.
Which wont have to be long as my lad refuses to disconnect the trailing cable to his PS4 and Mrs Snaps is far from amused at it draping over the bannister.

Ran a cable from our router to the main room upstairs to eliminate patchy wifi & ethernet over power units that always flaked out.
Result no more screams from THO regarding Casualty buffering or timing out on Iplayer = Less time spent giving technical support from the pub & more drinking.
My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I'm positive that I'm a pessimist & I don't care what what you think.
Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

Similar.
Usually 'This WiFi is s***e' texts from my lad in the early hours while I'm working and he's losing at COD or whatever.

Rob - or anyone in the know...
I'm going to run some cable round my new house before the carpets go down and based on your comments I was going to invest in some flat white (sounds like a coffee) cat6 cable and a crimping/tester pack from Amazon.
Do the crimping tools all work with flat cable or do I need a special one?
Is all Cat6 cable the gigabit bandwidth you mentioned? Do Cat5 and Cat6 have different connectors?
Is something like this enough, only £8.15 delivered:

Cat 6 is what you want, they share the same connectors, the difference is usually in the quality and shielding.
Flat vs round doesn't matter either, both have the same wires coming out the other end and go into the same connectors.
That would do fine, it's not really something you need to spend a lot on.

you only need cat5e rather than 6. although both will work not worth paying extra unless you plan on 10gigabit later.
