Heard on The News Quiz.

Face recognition. There's a good idea.
If you're having an affair all your partner has to do is hold your phone over your face when your asleep to read all those texts.

I'd reply with a disappointed pooh emoji but it's not worth a grand to do it.

Rob, some info re the pricing for using the apple watch. It is for America, but it's the first details I've seen so far.

My O2 contract just ran out so I can move to EE if I wanted to, I wasn't keen on moving as I hated Orange with a passion before I dumped them for GiffGaff years ago.

EE is the only carrier in the UK atm that offers a phone/watch plan, where you can use the same number on both (and also support the eSIM).

Will decide at the end of the month, I need to try both sizes on to see what I like best, and that needs an Apple Store, or at the very least a store that isn't on the island.

The amount of Mobile service providers that have pi**ed me off would fill a book.
Vodafone and T Mobile being the two main ones but with all the mergers I tend to lose track of who's who.
Currently have EE which is the best signal and customer service I've had (so far) O2 were fine for customer service but their signal went right down the nick which is why I switched.

Rob have you got the watch yet? If yes, any thoughts?

Lol!

Yes! So my thoughts are as follows:

1. EE are awful and incapable of handling call volume after any new Apple product launch, got watch on a Tuesday, took nearly a week and literally hours on the phone to EE (they even cut me off at least once after 30 mins on hold) just to fix the eSim
2. The watch is incredibly pretty, much thinner than my fitbit surge
3. I cannot recommend people avoid EE enough
4. A lot of apps still exist in a universe where the watch needs to be near the phone, hopefully time will fix this
5. The battery life is really good, most days I'm hanging it up to charge before bed with 60% left
6. I miss my O2 4g coverage :(
7. Whilst it doesn't auto-detect exercise like the fitbit does, everything else about it is way better for workout tracking than the fitbit, offers more detail and info, and third party apps
8. Being able to go for a run and listen to music with nothing more than a watch and wireless headphones, is so useful
9. Notifications are really useful for work, again being able to get text messages and accept/make phone calls when I'm walking a dog and don't have my phone on me is super useful
10. Did I say EE suck?

I find it amazing that something so small can make phone calls, send/receive texts, let me see notifications without having to find where I left my phone, remind me when I have a meeting coming up, play music, show me tide times and the weather, monitor my heart rate, show me where I am on a map, show me nearby bus times... oh and pay for things in stores.

It is a luxury item though, unlike a phone. But it's incredibly handy, I don't regret buying it at all, I love it. It's so preddy...

...and people spend £1k on something which just tells the time for what it looks like and the name on it, so why not have something which is practical as well!

Oh and it turned up way earlier than Apple estimated at the start, about a week from ordering?
