the good old days, in the newagent looking at Amstrad Action, and the other 2 inferior Amstrad magazines, and if there was cheat to type in for a game I had, or there as a good looking cassette stuck to the cover, pocket money would be spent :)

Good god, I might be in a couple of the Sinclair mags. I used to have an 'in' with Dean Mortlock and Garth Sumpter...

Would have been around the time I went up to Earls Court at the tender age of 17/18, all by myself to the Future Entertainment Expo and somehow managed to buy Betty Boo a drink in the bar, so 90/91.

Used to order the Sinclair specrum ZX81 mags from my local Dagenham paper store, and the free tape kept getting pinched, so the guy had to hide the mag behind the counter for me. Found out later it was the storeman's son that was pinching them, he he. We let him off, and I got six months free mags as compensation.

They were great for cheats, way before the internet, but if i remember it was a wait of a month between editions. So it was a long wait for info.

I'm a total Squirrel so unless Mrs Squirrel has pitched them out, which is entirely possible, I've got a couple of years worth of Atari ST User in the loft.

When I moved, I decided the magazines I'll never read again had to go. Kept the odd issue here and there, mainly the earliest thinking they'd be the most valuable, I think the first Sinclair User is still worth about 100p.

Let me check ebay prices...

Hmm, may be worth £5 now!
