Page 1 of Chrome v Firefox media problem.
PCs & Mobiles Forum
I'm getting a few sites where media won't play (Twitter) though not all of it, some works, or images won't show (Argos).
All this on Chrome but not on Firefox.
Is this likely to be connected to Adblock or Privacy Badger. They've been installed for a while but it's only just started happening.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

Yes, very likely. Could be both, but Privacy Badger would be who I'd suspect first.

I have them installed on Chrome, try a ctrl shift del to delete all your temp files? check your Chrome is auto updating as it should, mine is version 53.0.2785.143 m
actually the other day Argos site wouldn't work for me in Firefox at work, but worked in the dev version, I just put it down to "one of those things". works fine here now.

hmnn, just seen Rob's post, and realised here on the laptop in Chrome right now privacy badger isn't installed, I'll check on the tv pc at half time, but if it's not on this chrome, it's prob not on that one, I know it was so maybe I had problems and got rid?
adblockplus is installed though, why wouldn't it be ;)
actually that's a good point, what adblock are you using? I use adblock plus https://adblockplus.org/ and have done for a long time

RE: Chrome v Firefox media problem.
Thanks all.
It's Privacy Badger but I don't get what's changed.
Been working fine with it installed on the old XP machine and for the first month of the new Win 10.
Tried the ctrl/shift/del. No improvement.
Chrome version is the same 53.0.2785.143 m.
Just go on Twitter @England Their last post '5 cap Cahill speaks' comes up as
'this media could not be played' along with any other video, the stills are all fine.
Still on Argos the front splash page displays fine but any item pages just have the place holder for any image.

RE: Chrome v Firefox media problem.
Something triggered it to block a whole domain, or just cookies from a domain and Twitter decided that if you don't accept cookies you aren't getting content.
Most likely!

RE: Chrome v Firefox media problem.
Twitter seems to be grabyo.com which must be Englands choice for video hosting as Arsenal videos play perfectly. Also Google analytics was blocked though changing that first didn't change anything.
Argos had about 5 or 6 links, nothing looked too suspicious so I've disabled the Badger for both sites as they are well known reputable companies.
