Worth it or not?
Or stick with Libre Office.

What say you lot

I've not missed it at all.

Do you have any children at a school using Office 365? They should be entitled to download the apps and install on up to 5 devices at home for free. Slight downside is they are the licensee and will need to have Office signed in regularly to keep it active.

Not really sure about the significant benefits of MS office, unless you are a power user or need to share info online.

I do use MS office on mobile by using Excel online (via dropbox, onedrive, etc)

similar to the above, always used MS Office at work, and open office, now libre office at home, I've never been at home, and wished the word or excel equivalent did something I've used at work.

I think in the past some excel macros could be fussy, but I used one of those spreadsheets to keep track of league positions outcomes etc for Euro 2016 and it worked flawlessly in Libre Office.

The only thing that peaked my interest was I do remember liking Outlook and I suppose Word and Excel are more readily transferable formats but the option is there to save stuff compatible to those anyway in Libre Office.
No nagging from offspring either as they're past school age.

Just thought someone might have a persuasive argument in Microsoft's favour but obviously not. So I shall stay in the free world.

I quite like OneNote, but it's free now anyway. ;)

Used to use Outlook years ago but had so much hassle with IMAP support I dumped it ages ago, and tbh everytime I try and help a relative sort it out I'm reminded how awful it is.

Never really used Word or Excel enough to notice anything missing, bar perhaps macros as admars said.

Microsoft office is way overpriced nowadays, and far more complex than it needs to be.

Considering most people just need Word and  Excel the cheapest solution is to get a hold of an old version of office. I have office 97, and it is perfect to just download word and excel onto my home computer

You can pick up office 97 on some websites for free, beware could be dodgy though with viruses or malware. Better buy official disc secondhand on Ebay, should be cheap as chips.

In my case it bought a secondhand disk from a boot sale for a pound.

The simplest thing is to just use LibreOffice!
