Page 1 of Is there software to allow me to cut and mix MP3s and other audio files?

I want to be able to select specific portions of a track, and then save them as new files. Perhaps one that allows me to put together portions I have cut would also be useful.

Any ideas?

I was gonna recommend Cool Edit by Syntrillium, but it seems Adobe has bought them and are releasing it as Adobe Audition :/
And sadly they are not giving out any demos of it.

I guess you could try and search for Cool Edit and see if it`s still available for download anywhere. It was a truly great piece of software.
The last version that came out was 2.1 and had an install-file called "cepsetup.exe" and was 16.1MB.
