Page 2 of Jack FM going national!

Hang on. Sam and Jack are the same thing?

I travel from Berks to Somerset every weekend now, on the way down I get Jack FM on the radio, then as I cross to Wilts/Avon I pick up Sam FM?

Does Jack not exist any longer? Does this sound like an odd conversation?
What have I been listening to?

Heh, so Jack FM is a franchise, there is one in Bristol, was one in Southampton and I think one in the midlands. It is based off an American license I think, and each station would pay them for the branding.

The south coast franchise got fed up with paying for it, so they rebranded as Sam FM, making a few changes (like no Paul Darrow) along the way. They also brought in a drive time show (awful idea, usual awful vacuous DJ).

Actually even googling and looking on wikipedia some of that looks to only be part of the story. It is rather confusing!
