The Revolution at Shepherd's Bush Empire, last night of their tour. All classic Prince songs, all of The Revolution, room full of Prince fans, heaven.

Isle of Wight Festival (as usual!)...

Beast Decoys (Beastie Boys tribute band) were fun and probably the closest I've been able to get to the real thing for a long time.

Heather Small (amazing but 30 minutes is not long enough!).

Friday...

Caught the end of James for Laid (I could listen to that all day!), Lily Allen who was good once the obvious live autotune got turned off (or maybe became less obvious, a new band Djuno in one of the small tents were awesome, Grizzly and the Grasshoppers were also very good, and I really enjoyed Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, the Oasis tracks were good but also his own stuff that I'm not familiar with was just a lot more grown up and multi-dimensional than most of Oasis' straight forward rock.

Saturday...

KT Tunstall... awesome. Sundara Karma, listenable to stuff, Rick Astley was very entertaining (good band too), Anne-Marie was pleasant but just not my thing, Bastille were ok but didn't do anything for me, Andrew Roachford was already becoming a highlight and then KT Tunstall joins him on stage for Cuddly Toy tipping it over into maybe-best-moment.

Caught a bit of George Ezra, good but again not my thing, Fatboy Slim's DJ set was really good, and Garbage were fantastic.

Last night went to Audlen End House for a Heritage Live concert, if you've not done these and like the idea of a festival but don't normally like huge tightly packed crowds, you might like this! Sound was great!

Belinda Carlisle was great with a strong backing band.

ABC were also good, but I just didn't know their stuff that wasn't a hit single, so most of their stuff I didn't know, fun though.

The Human League, reason I got the tickets, just brilliant. Awesome sound, even really enjoyed the few tracks they played from newer albums I didn't know. Must see!

I've seen them at least half a dozen times and they are always value for money...

Lets Rock at Powderham

Nik Kershaw, Thomas Dolby, Go West, Betty Boo, Tight Fit (bloody awful... everyone though it was a joke), Belinda Carlisle, Billy Ocean, Hot Chocolate, Johnny Hates Jazz, Belouis Some, Owen Paul,  Musical Youth, Snap (the standout act... were brilliant) 11 years of this show, and the first band to do an encore!

Human League were the last act, sadly we left before they got on the stage as the girls were getting tired.

Masked Intruder at the Joiners again last night, again a brilliant show, so much fun. Bored of bands performing their most recent album perfectly and just standing there, Masked Intruder wear ski masks, guitarist is doing high kicks, they have a "policeman" who regularly gets in the crowd to dance, and then strips off to dance, they get someone from the crowd to duet on the song about stalking :) And afterwards they're standing outside the pub smoking with their fans :) (never seen anyone smoke through a ski mask before).

I'm not that into pop punk, but them and their songs are son funny, it's worth seeing :)

Took the girls to their first proper gig this afternoon , or rather Shlomo took them on a Beatbox Adventure.

I saw him years ago, when he special guested at a Mike Patton and Fred Frith gig, and he's been on Jools Holland.

Currently he's doing matinee "kids'" shows, it was brilliant, the missus, the girls and I all loved it. He's so charismatic - explains where beatboxing comes from, and rather than just stand there for 45 minutes doing it, he demonstrates techniques, gets the crowd to do it, does a bit more, we are now officially superstar beatboxers :)

it's only 45mins, but tickets were £10 for adults, and £10 for kids, so can't complain :)

afterwards he was sat at his merch stand, signing merch you bought, doing photos with ppl, and if you didn't buy merch he signed ticket stubs :)
