I was thinking about getting one soon but they've just announced the Fire streaming stick which will come in around the same price as the Chromecast. If it'll let me mirror my phone I'll be going for that instead.
It can be had half price for Prime users but I think that's U.S only.

Looks good, I was thinking about the Chromecast until the Fire TV was announced. Seems as if all the services on the Fire TV are replicated here...

Why has this thread disappeared?
*edit* Eh? Why is this in here when I tried to reply to the "What are you playing" thread...

I think it's the same issue we had with the Arsenal thread, never did get the time to fix that... :(

I got a fire Tv, ordered one when they offered it with a £30 discount for prime members who per-ordered one. I have a chromecast on another tv, but the fire tv is easier to use. Didn't know about the fire stick. I was planning on buying the game controller but the reviews on the UK site seamed poor last time I looked.
And now there's this:

Has anyone got an Amazon Fire TV?
They just sent me an email telling me from 14th September my LG Blu-ray player will no longer support Amazon Video, and offering me the above for £39.
I can still use it on the TV so I don't need one, but the price is tempting.
