Hi all
I am thinking of purchasing a thomson 24" television with a combined dvd player.But I have found that the television does not support NTSC playback.
How important is this.

I do not know if the Thomson will playback NTSC which is the American Standard, or not. However, I would be very surprised if this player does not support this, as this is standard on most machines.
If it does not support NTSC then I wouldn`t go for it. Region 1 disc`s will not play (I assume).

Perhaps others can offer more advice on this.

Hmmm..where did you get this info from Roy?

I have successfully hacked a Thomson 24" combi and played Toy Story R1 and got full colour. If it doesn`t support NTSC then it shoulda been in black and white.

Any owners of the Thomson combi wanna comment?

which is currys site info on the thomson says no ntsc.

The player might also be able to convert the signal. Many DVD players support NTSC and can convert the signal from NTSC to PAL50 or PAL60.
