I won one aswell from BOL.COM. I already had a Samsung 511 and flooged the one I won. It`s a good machine. Got a glowing review from last issue of DVD mag and said they thought it should have been compared with pricier models as it looks and performs like one. It hacks in seconds and I haven`t found any discs that don`t play in it.

It doesn`t however play MP3 or CDR but what the hell it`s a DVD player and I don`t care!

Permanent Hack

Power off no disc in. Press POWER, press and hold STOP and PLAY on player. Select 1 for Englsh when menu appears. Press REPEAT on the remote then enter 38767. A region number appears in top left, select region 9 for no region. Press eject on the player then power on the remote.

That should work OK! :o)

I also won a 511 from BOL.com (took delivery on wednesday, and hacked it straight away using the "38767" hack). I too was wondering whether this hack was permanent of temporary, as some pages list it as only temporary. (I actually took the hack from another site)

I have tried one R2 (Theres Something About Mary), and two R1 (Coyote Ugly and The Skulls), and there have been no problems so far

I opened up the player this morning to check what firmware I had (v4.05 for anyone thats interested. Does anyone know whether this newer firmware means that the hack is more or less permanent? (Steve from DVDChips, this ones for you!)

Hope someone can help,

Andy G
