my mate has just made up a cd with 2.08 on it - is upgrading a wise move?

Depends on where you got the firmware from, and if the CD is burned correctly.

There isn`t much advantage in 2.08, except that Macrovision is disabled.

Nelley is hopefully releasing a new firmware which will be 2.13 or above (also without Macro hopefully) very soon.

Read the FAQ (link below) to make sure the CD is burned properly, and only use firmware that has been officially released from Scan by Nelley.

If you`re desperate to remove Macro then go for it, but if not I`d wait for the next upgrade. Remember though upgrading firmware can sometimes screw the machine up. Be careful!

NiVZ.

thanks Nivz - I knew I could count on you!

p.s. I`ve downloaded the FAQ earlier today and
passed it on.
