What you say.
Truro innit.
First launch later today.

When I used to go to Cornwall on holiday as a kid we did a tour of Goonhilly Downs.
Saw them tracking Telstar and it was the first place I ever saw a colour TV.

Actually its St.Mawgan, part of Newquay Airport.

For anyone going to see it, there is no parking, but park and ride... oh and all you will see is the Virgin 747 take off, the rocket will be launched at +30,000 feet over the Irish Sea, so you will see a plane taking off!

I'm sure there will be a good helping of plane nerds around but I'll be relying on this new fangled TV thingy.

(Was trying to be down with the kids there, 'True doh innit')

And we all know how well they did at noticing giant yellow spaceships that hung in the sky exactly the same way bricks don't!

Who's for some Branson's pickle this morning.
It seems Richards rocket fell short.

Checking back to 2014 and the Virgin Galactic crash that killed one pilot and injured another I don't think it's unreasonable to ask if they don't push just that little bit too hard.

I hope there were no scientific satellites on this (I don't think there were), because those are bespoke and the result of many years of people's lives rather than a production run.

On the bright side, if it had worked the government would have claimed credit for supporting the UK return to the space race.

All the satellites were insured, no no-one's out of pocket, apart from their dreams being cast asunder, natch

Quote:
The timing here is concerning. Effectively, it appears that after Virgin Orbit failed to raise equity capital in November, the company pledged all of its assets to Branson after exhausting its other options. Branson, certainly, could add more funding in 2023. However as an economic recession looms and threatens Branson's other Virgin properties, it is not clear that he has the ability or willingness to continue to stem the flow at Virgin Orbit
