I don't think the UK had any choice but to pull out if the US were, and feel very sad that our government isn't even going to criticize the US because we need a trade deal with them because of Brexit, and also the whole inevitable "illegal immigrants" being wrapped up in why so many people voted for Brexit.

You’re forgetting who Biden’s preaching to. The world-wise and cosmopolitan US public, who probably couldn’t point out Afghanistan on a map if you asked them to. All they want is their kids not to die in a far off land and US tax dollars spent at home.
It’s only the intelligentsia and the political classes that have their proverbials in a twist. Biden just played from the Trump playbook and scored big with US voters.
