Worked out just as intended then? Cos it seems like a total disaster."

Well, as a dead cat it has proven effective in moving the whole partygate thing from the front pages.  The (enforced) re-org of Number 10 can then proceed apace without any sacking announcements, so will seem a conclusion of this whole affair.

Cynical but probably effective for the wider populace...

That only works if it looks like he’s controlling the narrative…

Fifth aide has just quit, and theTelegraph thinks that Ministerial resignations are coming too…

With politics allowing you to spin things, feels like Boris taking this yet closer to the Trump/Republican direction of blatant lieing and trying to blame Saville on Starmer has crossed a line that his party generally are very unhappy about.

Maybe they've looked at the Republican party still struggling to claw back any sense of itself from the hard right, and thought, let's not go there.

So anyway, in this completely normal country, we have a govt. that wants to sell off a successful channel because they don't like being held to account by the news arm of the channel.

The culture secretary does her usual "should be like Netflix" spiel, proving that she knows nothing about media or indeed culture.

How can you sell something, that produces nothing itself, and doesn't own anything it commissions... all you would be buying is the name/title.

this bothers me more than the channel 4 thing:

Rishi Sunak, Chancellor of the United Kingdom's Royal Mint has asked Her Majesty's Treasure to create the nation's first official NFT for issuance sometime this summer.

I mean, they've shown so many times they don't understand modern technology, so jumping on this emperor's new clothes bandwagon to me doesn't seem good at all.

Bojo and Risky get fined for partying against the law.

I reckon they'll still be in position this time next year. Crispin Blunt defending the indefensible yesterday must have been a false flag, a sacrificial rat used as a pre-diversion..

Apparently he didn't break the law though because I've seen some Twitter takes by unbiased tory supporters who say so...
