The Russia Report

Or is it really the 'avoid trying to find anything that makes us look bad' report

The UK government "actively avoided" looking for Russian interference during the EU referendum, says a group of MPs

Well, I suppose we're a country that literally let's Russia get away with murder on our shores with barely a slap on the wrist.

We are pathetic and they are laughing at us whilst bribing their way through the Tory party.

When Litvinenko was murdered Theresa May was apparently worried about losing Russian money in the City so made sure we went easy on them.

We are an international embarrasment.

Much as I would love to accuse the current government of ever malfeasance going... including using the publication of this report to bury the fact that yesterday they voted down every amendment to protect our food standards, our NHS, and MP scrutiny of future trade deals, leaving us wide open to that chlorinated chicken crap from the US...

But after Litvinenko died, the Labour government had four years to do something before they were voted out of office. They were just as in thrall to the Russian oligarchy as the Tory scum.

But yeah, this lot didn't even ask the questions.

I don't disagree. A lot of dodgy Russian money has greased a lot or palms, not just Tories. They are, however, just so good at it - world beating, you might say.

I suspect this is another report that people are eagerly awaiting that won't give them the narrative they're looking for...

The narrative from the Russia report is clearly that our govt and a large part of the Tory party (now purged of all those who ever dared speak against the right-wing zealots) is weak, self-serving, venal, corrupted and incompetent.

...I don't care about who or what corrupt foreign government or individual is trying to influence, as long as I agree with them or they are giving me money.

The future distant not-even-started report on government procurement during the Covid-19 pandemic will, I predict, have a narrative that is:

...I don't care about the millions wasted on substandard/non-existent PPE/mobile apps as long as money went to my mates.
