I think the whole BLM viewpoint from most white people, and it's easy to think this way, is:

"This is terrible, people of colour are having a horrid time of it... what do you mean for things to be fair white people have to give things up?????? OMG I'm not putting up with that! That's racist!!!"

"Really excellent thread on 'White lives matter' / 'Black lives matter' and the Priya Gopal furore.

It's long-ish (probably no-one will read it) Can't really précis it but it basically argues against the (often wilful) misunderstandings of the BLM position.

I read it and it makes the usual mistake of lacking nuance and pitching left vs right, which is not the way to go with this if you are actually interested in progress.

Don't just tell me what is wrong, give me a solution as well.

**edit** although I don't agree with the vast majority of comments underneath it either.

Glad to see Police are no longer monitoring parks, and instead have moved onto the crowded beaches.

So we can now sit with bums on park benches without being ticked off, lovely, as I feel as if I am back in a democratic country and not the soviet block

Are you posting that because you believe Israel is legally and/or morally right to occupy Palestine?

I don’t think the UK government can criticise Israel for annexing the West Bank when the Israeli government can slap the UK in the face with the Chagos Islands.

We as individuals can express as much moral outrage as we see fit, but as long as our own governments are ethically and morally questionable, nothing can change.

Whilst I would agree with you on this, show me ONE ethical and moral government...
