SpaceX manned flight canceled till Saturday

bandicoot (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 27th May 2020, 20:56

Today's USA NASA historic manned flight by two astronauts to the ISS Spacestation was cancelled a few minutes ago due to weather.

A long time since the USA has launched to the spacestation, since packing in the shuttle program, and were relying on the Soviets all these years.

Now to be attempted again on Saturday afternoon our time. Weather permitting. This is a joint project by NASA and private company SpaceX.

Watch live on Internet....Saturday afternoon.
Can be seen on NASA .TV live or on youtube NASA live.

I remember watching a launch several years ago, might even have been one the of the final shuttle launches, when it was cancelled for weather reasons. The was a lot of frustration as it was 30 minutes until launch and the reason the launch was scrubbed was there was anvil clouds 20 miles from the pad. Apparently that was enough to put the kybosh on the whole thing

Yeh, this was cancelled T - 16 minutes from launch, double cloud layer issue, hope it goes better on Saturday with a clear day.

It was supposed to be visible in our skies about 20 mins after launch though I'm not sure now with the earlier launch being in daylight that will still be possible.

There's probably a couple of 'Wenger out' ones going cheap.

Manned Launch is at 3.22 PM EST, so add 4 hours for GMT = 7.22 PM

And as we are at the moment on Summer time GMT +1 , so if I have my maths right it should be ?..... I hate time zones, as I always end up landing in Australia in the middle of the night

See it on NASA TV live on internet
or Youtube channel, NASA Live

Hope we have go for launch this time.

8:22pm, bandi! BBC News were also covering it the other day so they will probably do that again.

But we aren't really going into space, it's all being shot on a green screen! 😂

Well it was successful, and many debunkers were on shouting fake and flat earth in the comments. Well I believed it, and looked forward to seeing the almost impossible task  of the re-usable first stage to pin point land on the barge landing area in the middle of the ocean. The camera was there looking directly at the landing area, and then "Huston we have lost the TV signal" and a few minutes later the picture comes up and its already landed LOL, how convenient.  I was wondering during that time if they pulled out a dummy first stage and put it on the landing platform, he he. Likely the real first stage went deep six into the ocean bed. Other than that interruption, it seemed real to me.

I did like the new space suits designed by a Hollywood movie designer. Looked good on them.
