Agreed, just seen a news item about bins overflowing with the results of panic buying...

Whilst I agree with that a number of forces are taking matters further than allowed or even intended.

'youths will be prosecuted and their parents'

I suggest they check that with their legal people.

Got an email from the local council saying due to lack of binmen turning up at work, all recycling is to go into the waste bin along with the waste, ie, one bin collection instead of two, I wonder if it will all fit -definitely not! Plus glass bin not to be collected for the duration. Better cut down on drinking, or change to tins rather than bottles LOL

And yet I still have to pay my full council tax next week, grrrh!
i can see a lot of people will be fly tipping next month. What a mess.

On another subject, we went for an exercise walk into the woods behind me to avoid people, and its seemed the whole village had the same idea LOL, it was like christmas rush hour with us all weaving in and out to keep to spacing. crazy

Just cancelled the green bin collections (Garden waste)
Not to much of a problem as I think the tip's still open.

Getting real for me though. Despite the fact I'm still allowed to work as Private Hire is considered a key worker there ain't no work.
Most of the fleet seem to have switched off for the duration. I'm giving it till Tuesday as I'm already paid up for that.
Looking at applying to Tesco for a delivery driver job.
Even with the self employed deal it doesn't come in till June and I'm willing to bet they won't be processing 5 million payments all on the first of the month so who knows when it might arrive.

sorry to hear that, hope it works out well. I read an article the other day (I forget where) about someone 'resorting' to working for Tesco, they were surprised when sat in line for interview, there were ppl from all walks of life, diffrent jobs/ careers now out of work.

A couple of times I've been out of work Christmas time, I've stacked shelves in Currys, nice bunch of ppl, they thought it was odd I was there doing that, but when there's bills to pay, it's better than signing on.

I'm lucky, we had a meeting saying our part of business is ok, but others have been told use leave, or do reduced hours :(

These are essential services, if my local co-op became short staffed I'd offer to be a temp worker there if it helped!

Talking (at a distance) to my local postman this morning, known him for years, and he is a lifetime worker, working towards a pension, not temporary, and he said he is not happy that he is classed as an essential worker and been told to keep going. His colleges have similar worries.

You never think about the complexity of all this, It is a real worrying time for all.

Well that's gonna be it.
Went out to work tonight one hour and forty minutes with out a job, including a chat with another driver, at a distance, who'd also been out for 80 mins without one.
So back home and tell the company to switch me off for the duration.

I'll take it a week at a time and see if Tesco offer me a job or poverty overtakes me.
With the outside chance of homicide, victim or perpetrator, as I'll be in the house full time now. With wife, three adult kids and a two year old grandchild, oh and a hyper active dog.

Got a lot of DIY around the house to catch up with. Next job is a tricky one, with a bunged up shower drain on the first floor, full of daughters long hair I expect, and the floor is tiled, so going to go in through the artex roof from the kitchen below.  Replace the plastic drain pipes with new ones and sort out the holes in the artex roof later. Maybe make a feature of the holes in the roof LOL in the meantime. Luckily i have a lot of DIY materials lying around in the garage to do the job, as no DIY stores open locally during this lockdown.
