Its amazing the knock on effects of this virus situation.
Was watching BBC news mini-documentary on horses been abandoned all over the country, and animal charities having to take them on.
It seems those rich families are struggling with lack of income, likely mainly in Essex LOL, with their pet horses having to go, as its a lot of cash to up keep a horse, so bye bye horsey.
I can tell you that there are a hell of a lot of 'poor' people round here who have horses along with the wealthy owners, including a lot of gypsies, and it's those people abandoning the horses. The wealthy owners are fine.
In the field next to our old workshop there was a herd of Shetland ponies whose gypsy owner died. They would have been abandoned were it not for someone else coming forward to look after them.
One for the mask-debaters (well worth a two minute watch)

So Manchester forced into Tier 3...
Si says....So Manchester forced into Tier 3...
Yep, Central Government can force them, and they did, with the knock on effect of more job losses, layoffs and massive backup funds paid to local Government to cope, which eventually the tax payer will have to pay back with interest over many years to come. So its lose-lose for all. And this will be for each area involved that is a hot spot, not just Manchester.
But on the other side of the coin, it still has to do with saving lives by bring the R value down, and slowing the burden on the NHS.
Makes you wonder why we did the three months lockdown, when we are now back almost to where we were at the start. (Well, in some areas).
I can see the PMs reasoning for not wanting a national lockdown again, as it messes up the economy, loses jobs, and as he said that could end up, off and on, like a yo-yo, till the covid situation is solved, most likely by a working vaccine. So a national lockdown ain't going to happen, due to cost. (famous last words by me :D).
Talking about a vaccine, the UK is now allowed this week to do trials where the volunteers will take a test vaccine and be deliberately subjected to the virus to speed up results. Volunteers will read the small print, take the cash and maybe sign their lives away (smells a bit of WW2 nazi biological tests on inmates). Rather them than me.
