I'm sorry you don't get that."

I do get that and I disagree with the fines, even though most of those would be for parties or not following police instructions when challenged rather than the 'exceptional circumstances' that Cummings described, whether you believe him or not.

I find the whole thing a tad ludicrous when it's either a complete and immediate lockdown or it's not.  We all saw the farce in Italy where they announced a lockdown in advance and everyone (not literally) decided to move elsewhere.

The UK lockdown was announced on 23/03/2020 but, as an example, Ian Blackford SNP MP decided on 26/03/2020 to travel from London all the way to Skye to be with his wife and tweeted about it.  He will have accommodation in London that he claims expenses on, therefore if that lockdown was immediate and applied to everyone with no exceptions then he should still be in London.

Don't remember anyone calling for him to resign, and his leader is on record as saying the rUK response is too slow and she's not looking to remove restrictions any time soon.

I have no problem with Cummings having to resign or be sacked if the same rule is applied to Blackford, Stephen Kinnock, Tahir Ali and everyone else who broke the lockdown.

I hope that's clear.

Well with the sun out we drove down at our local beach today thinking it would be quiet, and it was like mobbed, could not see the beach for the crowds, ice cream vans selling ices, deck chairs out, all the beach huts open full of people. It was like a bank holiday LOL

I think after the Cummings fiasco, we are all deciding, stuff it, we are out for the day, and to ell with the lockdown

Nail on the head, he's single-handedly done untold damage - and been praised for his actions.  So many people will have a 'f*** it' attitude afterwards.

Better still do not join this 'track and trace' rubbish as its just like the old Nazi party informers or the Cold war USSR Stazi surveillance.

Convenient excuse for those who insist that the lockdown is justifiable with no exceptional circumstances allowed but will now ignore it.

That sounds like a very playground-esque argument to me.

Not at all, it's simply recognising the mindsets of too many people in the country, something the government has repeatedly demonstrated they have no grasp of.

Recognising the mindsets of people already opposed to the government in most cases?

In the meantime, Durham Police have issued a statement:

The mindsets of people opposed to the government or what Cummings did?
And to be clear then, are you of the opinion that what he did was fine or not?
