It's like anything new, and to be fair, they're only human and will put their own spin/understanding on any instructions provided.  I'm seeing that in so many different ways currently...

I was in my local Asda yesterday at about half six after a long day's work to pick up some essentials (no Easter Eggs...) and they have taped arrows on the floor so you should follow the single route up and down all the aisles, only to find people just wandering around as normal.

And this was a small local shop with only five aisles rather than a big superstore.

It's nothing new...

Because it's a real possibility, and right now there are a lot of people (thanks to Trump) still not taking this seriously enough. If they just said everything is going to be alright, people would go out and spread it even more, and it would kill even more people. :(

Neighbour told me he was stopped by police as he loaded up his car boot at Tesco carpark, and was told that only buying booze, which he had loaded up with (a case of beer and some wine), was totally non-essential and fined him £30.

Moral is, if you are buying booze also buy some bread and toilet rolls as well, as thats essential

This to me puts law abiding citizens really off, with this crazy attitude and abuse of police powers, it is just plain crazy. You might expect this in 1939 - 1944 Germany, but not here.

PS..to me I would have said booze is essential at this time to cope with this Covid 19 situation.

Hard to think of anything other than... good.

People mindlessly endangering other people's lives is plain crazy. Going to a supermaket just to buy booze is crazy. The police using legal powers that the government had granted them, to fine these idiots, is not.

Although going to an off licence to do the same probably isn't given that off licenses are considered essential retailers in this time of doom!

We beg to differ on police powers Rob. Give some of them an inch and they will take a mile.

Do we disagree that going out just to buy booze is an unnecessary risk in a time when our NHS is already overloaded and facing decisions where they will have to choose between who lives and who dies?
