the girls' school said there was over 50 new cases (staff and students) this week!

i feel a bit less crap today than yesterday, only taken 1 dose of paracetamol so far today. Symptoms haven't made me feel any worse than when I've had a bad cold, you know, when the coughing is annoying to you and everyone round you and sore throat is irritating and nothing helps. a bit achy, but carried on working at home.

Good job I didn't go into the office on Tuesday as normal

Original plague bearer negative last 2 days, she's day 10 now so free

I did day 5 test, positive, so home bound for a few more days

Other daughter negative yesterday, positive today :( not surprised she got it, but would have been more convenient for them both to have it same time, but like chicken pox they staggered it :(

If viruses infected everyone at the same time, they wouldn't survive very well long term. :(

how things have changed, just took one of the kids to covid centre to get first jab, totally different experience to when we went all those months/years ago, place was pretty empty, no queue, more staff than patients!

gave our details at reception, was escorted to kids' room, sat down with the 2 ladies who couldn't have been better about asking what she knew and understood about why we were there, explained possible but unlikely side effects to both of us, asked us for permission to give her injection, and before we knew it she was done :)

I think it's fair to say I was the most nervous person there and I wasn't having anything done :)

12 weeks time for 2nd jab, she explained why you have to wait for at least 12 weeks, about vary rare but possible heart problem that can happen if jabs too close together,

Covid tests to travel to the USA scrapped

Good timing for me, already booked, but Simon Calder says this could see an increase in bookings and therefore fares.
So if your thinking about going think quickly.

If you're feeling that way inclined, now would be the perfect time to get your winter flu shot and COVID booster shot.

Currently have two aching shoulders, but feeling a little safer.

Without meaning to pry, is that invite from NHS, or booked private at chemist etc? I've not had an invite or reminder from boots to get stuck, but saw me neighbour the other day who said he had both jabs, but he has health issues

A family member had a routine appointment at the GP, and they took the opportunity to give the Flu jab then and there. They also told us that our local pharmacy was doing both the flu and the Covid shots for walk-ins, so we all went and ticked off the vaccination score-card.

Had no invite from the NHS, and no reminder from the GP, just had to do it ourselves.

The government's vaccination awareness scheme is firing on all cylinders, as per the rest of their effective governance these days.

I thought the new rule was that only over 65s and medically vulnerable/health workers would get the Covid jab? Not sure on rules for flu jab. I started getting it free in recent years because of asthma (barely noticeable tbh) diagnosis.

Great that you were able to get these.
