RE: [VIDEO] Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?

Vaccine rollout extended to over-45s, which includes me. All booked for Tuesday, with the second jab on my birthday.

Booking process very simple, the website was buckling a bit under the strain but I think I was early enough to beat the rush.

I got in very early today, and then it wouldn't let me book the first appointment because there were no second appointments. I mean, sigh...

Well, that was interesting. Had the jab Tuesday. Straight in & out like a well-oiled machine. Sat in the car for the obligatory 15 minutes to make sure I didn't explode or something, then drove home all fine. No problems all day.

Yesterday morning woke up, arm in pain, body aching. Nothing too dramatic, then as the day went on just felt more and more lethargic until GTA lost its appeal and I decided on an old-man nap.

3 hours later and I wake up feeling stupidly warm. Grabbing the thermometer it reads 38.3. Oh poo. Hastily I grab the leaflets I was given to look through the side effects, as I was aware that if you're one of those people who have Covid but have no symptoms (like last March) then the vaccine reacts and the symptoms start showing.

However the side effects do include a High Temperature/Fever, and shouldn't be of concern unless it lasts more than 2 days. This morning I'm a nice boring 35.8. Still, got another day off work. Back to GTA I go

Hope you feel 100% tomorrow. I have heard that you can also have a reaction to the vaccine if you have a strong immune system, which is why the older people are generally the least reaction they have.

I've heard that this is not actually true - or at least slightly misleading. If you didn't have a strong reaction to the jab you might therefore conclude that your immune system is weaker and the vaccine is less effective, but they still measured equally good anti-body response in those who didn't have any reaction.

"It’s tough to pinpoint why some people develop side effects. There’s currently no data suggesting a person’s reaction is any indication of how well their body produces an immune response".

I had a fairly strong reaction to the vaccine and hadn't read about this (don't really know how true it is). It wouldn't greatly surprise me if I had it - although my asthma symptoms will often have me coughing and spluttering and thinking I've got covid (at least before the jab).

I thought it was mostly that better immune systems over-reacted to it, not that it meant it wasn't as effective. But I could be wrong!
