We are all, and our habits, traceable to the Nth degree even if we attempt to go off grid.
To actually do so would be pretty much a full time job and not worth it, unless you're John Connor.
That's probably why I'll eventually give up and get an Alexa or similar. If 'they' are going to have access to the info anyway I may as well have the benefits that go with it.

Amazon ring does more than that, as it records video footage that goes to its servers, so can be used by Amazon and third parties for data collection, and in the USA is now being used for Big Brother in the Suburbs. Bad enough with cameras in Shopping malls and on the streets and roads, but this is far more intrusive
It would take legislation in the UK and I hope it is not allowed, as this is the most intrusive neigbourhood watch scheme using a Ring app, that allows all Ring devices in a neighbourhood to be interlinked.
Only available in the USA (at present and hope it stays that way)

yeh, but if you have a fancy doorbell, phone, and car, they can work in sync :)
see, the conveniance, you can be at work and Amazon can tip ppl off to burgle your house :)
Reminds of years ago, ppl being told not to put their full address on suitcases, in case baggage handlers in airports used that info to burgle empty houses.

The husband, a semi pro MMA fighter, is asleep upstairs as he works nights as door security.
Good luck.

Interesting that video about receiving goods at your front door. Never had an automated tailgate so would not work for me. Here is a new delivery I have never heard of till today....
Kerb delivery only..... I just recently purchased two heavy rolls of carpet off Ebay, and waited this morning till the delivery van arrived, and when they did arrive, they said they would only drop the rolls on to the kerb. Two big guys in the van and not one would help me get them into the house.
I had to get a strong helpful neighbour to help me get the carpet into my hallway before the rain arrived. Next time I will read Ebay messages. Grrh!
In related workshy bastard news, my (not so) local bank is closing the counters to all but business customers, as we plebs are expected to use the machines for everything. This Monday, Greenpeace barricaded 97 branches of the gits because of their fossil fuel investments. They shouldn't have stopped on Monday.

I'm wondering if this might be just for you. :) People are always offering to bring things into the house for me!
