Of  course, you know that alexa listens in all the time and can record and store conversations made in your home.

These devices can store private conversations without your knowledge, and get data information about you. Data on you could even be sold or handed over to third parties.

Its the biggest big brother device that you let in. Not in my house though, I do not and never will have one.

Pretty sure it's in the T&C's when you sign up. But yeah, for the reasons you give I have no intention of using any of these devices. They're essentially the equivalent of shouting at your phone anyway.

Pete, Bandi, does anything happen when you say "OK Google" by your phone?

Is that true about listening to your own private conversations in my home?Reason why I asked thinking about getting one for hubby’s birthday gift? Has that been totally confirmed? I think I did asked my daughter about that and she said no really mom! Tell me all this way I don’t feel so ill informed.

yes, it's listening to everything so that when it hears special words it can respond.

what's more worrying is when ppl have asked for the transcripts, and got someone elses :(

out of interest, do you have a nectar card or similar? Supermarkets have been "spying" on our shopping habits with our consent for years, so we can get a few pence off here and there, or 10% off 2 shops a month with clubcard plus at Tesco. Worth the subscription for me :)

Would you believe I do my weekly shop with cash, and don’t use loyalty cards for that very reason? My shopping habits are my own business.

It’s bad enough with Facebook insisting on showing me ads of the exact same thing I’ve just bought online. What do they think, I’m going to need two of the same thing at the same time?
