Page 1 of Any coin collectors here?

Iv recently started collection bullion coins, I bid for a sovereign on eBay to go in my sovereign holder in my antique silver pocket watch Albert chain, won both I bid on and unfortunately the collector bug has always been in me back to my teens with comic books :(, iv spent a lot in the last say 4 or 5 months figuring gold (and some silver) will gain in value long term and I try to buy 1 a month and wonder if there are any other collectors here who's brains I might pick :)

Kinda, sadly only UK 50p & £2. I have the top 3 rarest £2 coins (still looking out for Scotland). My 50p's are a little random. I did have a Jemima Puddleduck, but my boys just thought it was a random coin so spent it on sweets :'(

nope... but i do have a two big old tea tins, full of old penny's, six pences, threepenny bits, and other coins.

I have had them twenty years, came from my gran, i am sure some may be silver... but how do i find out?

Could take them to a local antiques shop plenty in the town, but always usefull to know the real value.

Is there a cut of date when silver coins stopped?

Sadly no Soveraigns in there, but a few Crowns and Half Crowns
