I've seen a lot of this guy's vids, and I love his calm style. I'm lucky in that I ventured onto the WWW in about '00 with an immediate sense of scepticism about the whole thing, and was always aware that as soon as a new technology becomes available, there will be those who will try to exploit the less aware for nefarious financial gain. Happily, my nearest & dearest adopted this immediate suspiscion from me more or less by osmosis, and I've lost count of the number of times I've booted up combofix to rescue a ransomware-infected OS.

Which is why I get upset & angry whenever I hear of anyone getting taken in by these evil & heartless c****s. The internet's been around enough, and it's been known to be crappy for long enough that some kind of official agency should be putting out PSAs about this kind of thing, informing the uninformed masses that they shouldn't be calling the numbers given out by obvious scam pop-ups.

I didn't expect to watch all of this but stayed till the end.
He does a very good job of making it understandable although I wouldn't have a scooby how to do anything that he does.

Nice to know there are some white hats out there. Do you subscribe to his patreon Rob?

I've only watched that one!

The thing I thought was interesting, maybe early in the video, was how much of a low life the Indian population saw them as. You so often get the wrong impression that these things are tolerated in the countries famous for them but it seems not.

I saw one of these, and it was odd, that teh scammer, gave the "victim" teamviewer access back to his pc! so our hero started to delete his spreadsheet of victims!

Then it turned into a wierd game of cat and mouse, where the scammer was trying to use regedit and advanced sysadmin commands on the hero's PC, but was getting flustered, and then started laughing when he "trashed the PC", the hero then said, oh, hang on, I'll just close this one and start again, it was a VM, so he just closed it, and went back to a previous snapshot, and then the scammer connect again, who was now getting confused, and annoyed but still thought he as hacking the PC with super cool stuff!

it dragged on a bit, and the US guy was a bit annoying, but again the comments were interesting, lots of Indians saying they hated this sort of thing and how it gave them a bad reputation.

the phone bit on your one takes it to a whole new level :)

A company I used to work for, a lot of ppl were mobile users, or worked form home, but we'll say weren't that PC literate.

We had a very confused woman come in with her laptop talking about when we tried to help her on the phone the other day, but we hadn't.

turns out, there was a problem with her laptop, coincidentally, that day, she got one of these "I'm Bob from MS to fix your laptop" cold calls, and thought it was us, now the good/lucky thing was, the problem she had, was that she couldn't get on the internet, so all that happened was she wasted a scammer's time, as he couldn't connect to her laptop todo anything :)
